Cyber Panther

I share with you what could be seen as a failure. To be up-front, the client went a different direction. However, I wanted to show concepts I created with the company and locality in mind.

Cyber Panther is a Cyber Security firm with long track record of dealing with a huge range of security services including vCISO and On/Off shore security which I’m sure would be well received with Monaco being… well, Monaco. They wanted a logo that was high-end and for me to be different in my approach compared to the cliché look of cyber security logos.

With the company being based in Monaco, a place where tradition lines the streets and it’s inhabitants enjoy familiarities with many businesses opting for the flag colours I fed off that and looked into these following concepts. Please note these concepts haven’t been further developed and are in draft form.

The colours I chose are based on the red of Monaco’s flag, though not as stark because this is it’s own thing. Alongside, I used the off white of so many of the onshore buildings and the deep navy you see further off shore behind the bright crystal blue edges.

This one was originally chosen by the client. Castle walls are used in Cyber Security imagery for obvious reasons. The Prince’s Palace of Monaco has distinct shapes on their walls, so for this concept I went towards using those shapes as the basis, with the stealthy panther patrolling the walls. Adding the diamond shapes above added extra symbolisation of people. The font chosen is chunky enough to sit next to the blocks and hold it’s own and merges the interesting look of a serif with the clean lines of a sans serif. Love it.

The #1 symbolism in Cyber Security is the trusty shield. They’re also found a lot in Monaco but as fussier heraldic crests. So there’s my chance to make a cliché different with my minimal heraldic panther that creates a shield shape. The font chosen gives off an air of sophistication yet remains clean and modern.

I also provided an alternate colour scheme in case the client would prefer to be more towards the colours usually found in the Cyber Security space. You can see how it can change the feel of the logo.

I will often play with the initials of a company to see if anything interesting can be done there. With this one I managed to work the C + P into the pad of the paw which was fitting as I was told it didn’t have to be the face of a panther, or a panther at all. So this is… but also isn’t. This font brings in the cyber aspect whilst sitting nicely with the lines of the C+P paw. However, I feel in development I’d have tried other options.

This could also work in single colour and in a badge, great for marketing materials at events.
