An all rounder of a project for the launch of two motorcycling products.

I first worked with Ian of BULLSHIFT back in 2016. He got back in touch in 2023 to kick off two new motorcycle products. Handy, as I love bikes! This was an all-rounder project where I handled everything for Ian, bar the social media management.

Together we accomplished:

Product Logos

The SOLESHFTR and the BULLSHFTR are products created by the company BULLSHIFT. This original brand was created back in 2016 so the product logos were to look similar not only to each other but also with the parent company. These logos were also created into logo stings using motion graphics.

The SOLESHFTR is an attachment for motorcycle boots for those who ride dirt or adventure bikes. It drastically reduces the amount of movement the leg and knee need to do helping combat fatigue over long rides and also helps you shift quicker when you need to react fast. The product is 3D printed with an extremely tough thermoplastic polymer.

The BULLSHFTR is an attachment which replaces the gear peg on a motorcycle, aimed at cruisers and adventure bikes. It reduces the amount of movement needed to change gears, so riding 100s of miles a day is a breeze and also helps you shift quicker. It can help those with smaller feet and with injuries that make shifting difficult too. This product is also 3D printed with an extremely tough thermoplastic polymer.


Product Packaging

The packaging went through a variety of phases to find the right method. Originally boxes of different sizes were tried out, then telescopic tubes but we settled on these recyclable semi transparent doypacks which worked well for shipping as the product itself is very lightweight. Ian spent a lot of time creating and perfecting the SOLESHFTR so the product within the doypack, slid into a matt metallic red mailer with a sticker and hand signed flyer gives a cared for experience to the buyers instead of a plain white box like so many copied products on Amazon. The BULLSHFTR is also packaged in a larger doypack.

Organic & Paid Social

I created static and video content which was used across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Every piece was provided as 4:5 or 1:1 for the Feed and 9:16 for Stories or Reels. Each Reel has a cover image so that it sits tidy within the grid – Instagram aesthetics – along with giving a teaser of what the post will be about. A small selection is viewable below.


Videos

This project was very grassroots so I also handled the videography for the simple videos Ian wanted put together, such as installation videos and explanation videos to the short form social videos. These were captured with a mix of a DSLR, iPhone and DJI Drone with editing done within Adobe PremierPro and AfterEffects. Each of the Youtube videos had a thumbnail to help them stand out and look polished. Here’s the introductory video as an example.


Photography

Continuing from the above, this also meant I was taking the product shots. We had a mix of white studio shots to show the product off clearly alongside gritter garage shots and in use shots. The product being small, black and on the inner side of the shoe didn’t make this easy. This was completed for both products but you’re only seeing one live at the moment.


Shopify Website

After months of work, everything came together to get the products teased, launched and sold on a Shopify website.

Liv produced all of my initial corporate branding, I was so very pleased with those results, when my products were fully developed and market ready, it was an easy decision to engage her to complete the branding of the products also.

I know how I want my products to be seen by my customers, visualising that is less than straight forward, however when I met with Liv, she fully understood grasping those idea and, developing them into a reality I had imagined, I wanted something I can be proud of, I believe they developed my perfect outcome.
