If you’re into Hip Hop then a listen of the En’Rico Dion aka ESQ single is definitely worthy. ESQ has been working hard on his music, from live performances, to studio recordings and it’s time for him to be heard. ‘Get Fly’ is more of a club track (DJ’s get a hold of it!) revolving around a strip club theme. Bam Bam is on the hook giving it a catchy style and ESQ’s lyrics hit hard… no pun intended (lol). There is also a clean version of this for the sensitive ears out there! ‘Knock ‘em Out’ is my favorite of the two, I find it quite catchy and I like the punchlines within it. On datpiff there’s two extra bonus tracks: ‘Stop & Go’ has a different feel about it, I find it quite fresh, the beat is very different and overall the song is quite chilled out… to me. ‘Big Deal’ is a freestyle to the infamous beat… if you don’t know which one I’m talking about shame on you lol. Check them out, they’re worthy of a listen and if you like it hit the download button.

Here’s the cover art for C-Menniz’s mixtape Trials & Tribulations. He wanted something which portrayed pain and suffering as I wanted to do it without having any other people in the cover other than him. So an empty and destroyed Boston city with mean storm skies with strong yellows and oranges along with light lighting on top helped me create it. The buildings took the most time to destroy but was worth it instead of the normal skyline. On top there’s multiple textures, including diamond metal plating which shows up in the darker areas.

I like how this one came out, dull but colorful… if you know what I mean.

Here we have a custom overlay layout for US recording artist Young6ixx. He requested it to be black, red and chrome so I did that and spruced it up with some star glows inside the boxes just so it wasn’t box standard black, added some lines to add a more professional look to it. Along with that I made the reds have a chrome feel to them, and added a fabric texture over the whole thing to make it not look so smooth. For the flash banner he wanted something to represent CA, therefore I placed in a skyline of LA, removed the sky to keep a dark look and added some moody clouds to the equation. Et Voila! I sub-contracted the coding for this page due to time restrictions and deadlines, shout out’s to Jes :]

Here’s the front and back cover to Reno Soundz album artwork for Nutt Case, along with a promotional flyer which the previous version of the cover on it.

The client wanted a padded room theme, and as there were no decent images i could use I had to build it from scratch using a padded wall texture. Everything is built custom, and not pictures pasted together. To give it a twisted feel I added a light to add atmosphere and blood written walls to add to the eeriness. Then I added grunge graffiti to the sides to represent the street element.

This piece is similar to The Game // Torn between Two Colors piece I did a while back. I like this style and have built on it & adapted it a little each time I use it. Again it has the glowing outlines of areas, with the graffiti sections, hue altered skin color etc.

Rock the Nation Sound are back at it again (not that they ever really stop..) promoting the new CeeKaiH Track, ‘Longtime’ which features French reggae artist Tiwony.

I admit that this project was a tough one to work for as the song Longtime is about giving blessings to Selassie, and I’m not too familiar on that issue. However it’s also a ‘hype’ track so the client didn’t want it to be overly religious therefore I went with a tribute room style with framed images of Selassie along with large speakers to represent the dancehall music. The colors are an obvious choice so that viewers recognize that this is a promotion for reggae/dancehall related music.

My brief was to keep this layout non suggestable, and to be viewable to people of all ages however to keep it’s street style, therefore I steered clear of any guns, drugs etc whcih I generally don’t use unless requested anyway, and stuck to a concrete & metal style. It’s grungey but it also has soft blue glows to even things out. Everything works well together. The banner is just of Colby crouching on the road with his name etched into it, glowing every now and then for it to be noticed.

The second release from DJ Grind and Musically Motivated.

DJ Grind wanted a Stage & Crowd theme, with blue being the main color, so I went ahead and did that, and as I was making it blue just wasn’t striking enough so I added pink into it to catch eyes at first glimpse. The pictures weren’t the best quality so I had to find him some legs so that I could squeeze down the pixels and make them seam a little clearer. I love the chrome text on this. And I do have a thing for purple and green & pink and blue. This is free to download here.

The cover for an soon to be released mixtape, presented by DJ 1-2-3 and featuring E.Bizzle and Saint Anger.

I went with a darker color scheme of blacks, blues, yellows and silvers, with plenty of money, more elegantly dressed ladies and a perspective which places you, the viewer, at the other end of the table. Some glows helped to finish it off and make it a little lighter and eye catching. I’ve been using the glows for a long time now and it does take a long time to get it right, not too much, not too little etc.

I chose to do and in/out of water theme as I haven’t seen that on a mixtape cover before. Always good to be different. Of course the main colors are red/green/yellow due to the reggae theme.
