In The Flesh: Framed

Finally got round to framing a few pieces and having them on my wall for a little motivation. The rest of the pieces on my wall are ones which I find inspiring from various different people :) Sorry the pictures are a little dark, couldn’t use the flash.

Here’s the A2 poster I did for To The Republics ‘Drown EP’ release show. It was my first A2 poster, plenty of very slow photoshop moments whilst creating this before I gave up and did all the text in illustrator and just did the background, and placing everything else in photoshop. Printed awesome :)

Read on for two more.

There Goes the Neighborhood • Complete

To see the first post on this piece, head over here.

Right… I think after doing a few finishing touches this piece, my first color vector is a wrap! I ended up doing two versions, ESQ. (the face!) named it There Goes The Neighborhood and I liked it so used that and placed it on the second version, in an old school style font (read more to see the text version). This piece along with the M-4 piece I did have made me want to learn illustrator more. Before I found it very annoying as Photoshop has been my primary since I started, and I only opened illustrator for the odd job but I find it quite relaxing, and even though they’re a long process it’s worth it when you see the end results :)

ESQ Vector // Personal Piece

ESQ Vector // Personal Piece

Recently I’ve seen a lot of vectors of people which have smoothly blended skin tones and are half cartoon, half life like. I decided I wanted to give it a go but to keep the skin tones harsh to create an abstract effect. Once I was complete I chose to change the colors to purples/blues to further the abstract look.

This is my first time doing a color vector – as you can see in my blog my others are simple black & white ones with one color to make it pop. I’m no illustrator but I’m trying to get to grips with Ai more. This took me a fair few hours but they were broken up so it wasn’t too bad.

It could do with a clean up but… How did I do?

ESQ // Stop & Go Music Video

Firstly… This is not directed or edited by me. I’m generally just giving a long term client a little extra promo because I think this video is pretty cool. The style of the editing fits the songs perfectly and there’s only a couple of parts I don’t like (when the stop sign & esq turn black & white shades). Overall it’s a great video created by ForteNox for ESQ. Great quality too compared to youtube, it takes a little longer to load but it’s worth it as there’s not a stretched pixel in sight on my 24″ screen!

MeetESQ.com // Website & Mixtape Album

MeetESQ.com // Website & Mixtape Album

It’s finally ready!

The site is relatively basic styled website with a minimalist theme with a bit of an urban graffiti touch. We went for white/grey/orange for the color scheme, simple but striking. It actually went through a complete re-design a few weeks ago which made it 100x better, funny how ideas can brew over time into something a lot better. His album MEETESQ.COM has also been released today, get your hands on the free digital copy by clicking the image below!

Take a look around, listen to his music, if you like what you hear download a mixtape (or two… three.. four…) from the discography section. Don’t forget to add his myspace & follow his moves on twitter!
