If you’re a fan of Tech N9ne, Kid Cudi or Chamillionaire, then you may like these wallpapers. If you were lucky enough to attend one of the many dates of the Heatwave Festival… then you will like these wallpapers! Let me know if you’re liking them. I see a lot of Tech and Cham fans DEMANDING a collabo between the two artists… how dya feel about having them both on one screen saver? Say in the comments.

I’ve created them in three screen sizes, just click the size you want and let it download. All I ask is you don’t re-distribute, they came from my site so link people back to this site if you’d like to share

2011

2011 has been an immense year for three29design. Here’s why:

The Full Metal Jacket piece I created was chosen to feature in the digital Stanley Kubrick exhibition which ran alongside the Paris Exhibition. I also had several posters I created picked up by The Picmix Store and sold.

Full metal Jacket

Locally, three29design has gained exposure, seeing as we did things the other way round by concurring overseas before the local area. I also was asked to work with my local Peugeot garage – this happened via twitter, so lets all bow to the mighty twitter and it’s powers.

3rd Wyrld Soundclick

3rd World Banner

Click the image to view live page.

Broo contacted me wanting both an illustration and a Soundclick layout for 3rd World Ent ran by him and his brother. He chose to go with a Gold package and requested a theme which kept the slums in mind. At first I thought of having images of actual slums on the layout however, I thought that combining wood, corrugated iron and his request of wires to build up elements for the page could look a lot better… and it did :)

Heatwave Large Format Posters

In Melbourne? Well look out for these large format posters which’ll lace your city very soon! Take a picture of you by one and send it to the Heatwave team, they may have a treat for you. Let us see it too!

I hadn’t created a two color poster before but I think this came out pretty well considering that and the extremely tight deadline. I love Cudi’s orange eyes.

Suicide Note: The Creation

Suicide Note: The Creation

I thought it would be cool to walk you through some of the steps I took to create this album cover for Tuf Luv. This isn’t a tutorial as it only briefly goes through the main steps… all the work done between those steps is left out. Bare in mind, this is an album cover, not a mixtape cover which are too often is filled to the brim with cuts and glows.

1. First we have the original image. The photographer has taken care of the lighting that they want on the cover along with a few effects. This is the picture I got sent to work on. Photo credit: @ShinesFresh

2. Now to open the canvas for the front cover and work out what placement of the photograph works best. I went for him to be in the middle. This was the maximum the image would shrink to and fit on the canvas otherwise I would have opted to show more of the image. One thing I didn’t like is the lampshade, it ends up looking like a black box at first glance, but more of this later.

HEATWAVE: Tour Posters

So I’ve been working on the designs for the Australian Heatwave Festival and here are two of the many posters. The majority follow the same layout as the SA poster.I had to do a fair few illustrations of the main acts for the Heatwave artwork. Heatwave currently has an amazing line up, so if you’re into Hip Hop and are Aus based you’re in for a TREAT. Kid Cudi, Tech N9ne, D12, Obie Trice, Chamilionaire, Crazy Town, Bombs Away! and a hell of a lot more rock and dance acts for the other tents. Get yourself a ticket.

See the Sydney poster after the jump.
