HeatWave Australia 2012

HeatWave Poster

In November I started on the artwork for the HeatWave festival which took place across Australia. The line up for the HeatWave festival included: Kid Cudi, Tech N9ne, D12, Obie Trice, Chamillionaire and Crazy Town. The majority of the work I did required versions for; South Australia, Melborune, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Canberra but I will only show one of each.

Prominant contacted me about doing his cover artwork for his latest release again, which is always a pleasure. We went for a more album cover look like with his previous release; All Jokes Aside. I loved the picture used on the front cover, it’s just such a cover shot so I extended the image to work with the cover size and go to work editing it to make it a little grungier to contrast with his brightly colored tee and hat. The idea behind the faint images behind me is to create distortion, like an addict rocking back and forth, seeing double etc. The text was kept simple to give it a bold impact.

There’s also a matching flyer (below) and @prominantva‘s twitter page.

Here’s a Project for recording artist, Prominant. For the mixtape cover he wanted something simple, and mentioned he’s coming back to the rap scene, representing VA so putting the skyline in the background seemed like it could grab the attention of the locals with a slightly aged effect to finish it off.

Stolen Goods from Stolen Land // Flyer

Here’s a very different project from me, I like a little diversity. This is for use at a Free Palestine demonstration in London, outside Ahava’s store, to inform passers by what’s going on. No point repeating myself so view the flyer to learn a little more about that. I kept the design light and clean so it’s easy on the eyes and focuses on the information, I just wanted the stamp style heading to draw peoples attention.
