HeatWave Poster

In November I started on the artwork for the HeatWave festival which took place across Australia. The line up for the HeatWave festival included: Kid Cudi, Tech N9ne, D12, Obie Trice, Chamillionaire and Crazy Town. The majority of the work I did required versions for; South Australia, Melborune, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Canberra but I will only show one of each.

Phil contacted me wanting some of his recent Photoshoot pictures to have some light based edits to them. He sent me some sample images of people light painting with sparklers, so I went ahead and showed him my business cards as I thought they may be along the lines of what he wants, and I was right. So I went ahead and did a similar effect with his pictures. The photos he sent across were ace, and I did ask myself how he didn’t fall flat on his face whilst having them taken! This was a draft of a cover idea, but it ended up being used for some promo bits (sticker, display pics, etc) for the mixtape instead. Wanted to try out a black and white dripping graffiti style, with a hint of color.

This piece is similar to The Game // Torn between Two Colors piece I did a while back. I like this style and have built on it & adapted it a little each time I use it. Again it has the glowing outlines of areas, with the graffiti sections, hue altered skin color etc.

By now you must know the name, Rock the Nation Sound on my blog. They’re non stop with there mixtapes, especially the Secret Love Series. Below is the first draft of the cover for volume 16, this time it’s in a studio, with artists on the mixtape there with two lovely ladies to keep them company. The lady on the left is going to be changed for someone with a little more covered up, I guess I’m used to putting women on a beach with this series.
