Harmony approached me wanting a very minimal mixtape cover revolving around her logo, almost album like, compared to the ‘traditional’ look of mixtape covers. I went for a brushed metal center mixed with a chrome outer for the logo. Harmony wanted her pictures to be shown behind the logo, faintly. I chose to have a small areas in purple to spruce things up a little from the bland color scheme. Finally a slight scratched texture broke up the black background, with a larger faint purple logo lined the background.

When Brad told me his Mixtapes name and that he wanted to cover to represent a work in progress I instantly thought of going down the blueprint route instead of the cliche half drawn sketch you see a lot on mixtape covers. For the back cover I wanted to give it the notes/contents feel of a blue print. I originally removed and drew out his arms, neck and so on but it didn’t work right so I decided to stick with re-drawing the clothing.

On May 10th ESQ releases his single Yeah Buddy – it’s also his birthday so make sure you send a birthday message to @MeetESQ! The cover is simple, ESQ came to me knowing exactly what he wanted, a wooden styled cover with the one color illustration of him carved into it. The album cover for Ashley Noot’s soon to be released debut album. Only the front cover and the slipcase version of the back is out for show right now for album promotion but there is full album artwork created for the hard copies

We chose to go for something simplistic after initially beginning with a collage style. It just seamed to work better for an album.
