The Full Metal Jacket piece I created was chosen to feature in the digital Stanley Kubrick exhibition which ran alongside the Paris Exhibition. I also had several posters I created picked up by The Picmix Store and sold.

Locally, three29design has gained exposure, seeing as we did things the other way round by concurring overseas before the local area. I also was asked to work with my local Peugeot garage – this happened via twitter, so lets all bow to the mighty twitter and it’s powers.

On top of that, on December 2nd I won South Cheshire Chamber’s Young Business Person of the Year award sponsored by Bentley Motors. To have such a huge company pick my name to win the award was just amazing, thank you to Bentley and SC Chamber! I have 9 more years to enter for this award so let’s see how next year goes

I was involved in the artwork for Australia’s Heatwave Festival which will take place in January. What an awesome way to kick off the year. A bus has been driving around with my design on it, as well as a plug for the website, always good! That bus will also be home to Tech N9ne for a short while… I am a fan so that was pretty cool. There will be a fair few Billboards going up around Melbourne with my artwork on it (and logo) along with large format two color posters. This is pretty awesome, especially those on the line up are Kid Cudi, Tech N9ne, Obie Trice, D12 and more!! And this Festival isn’t happening in just one city, it’s moving all the way around Australia.

I was on local radio quite a few times, speaking about design the first time round, social media the second time then a mix of the two on the other shows. This was quite big for me, because I am shy and I’m not great at speaking, I’m an email and text person! Nerve-racking indeed, but it wasn’t that bad. So, thank you Redshift. In January I will doing my first exhibition stand at one of the Hub’s networking events too

I saw my work featured on various Kano + Mikey J videos – totally didn’t notice this for months but when I finally did it put a smile on my face. My first Halloween giveaway was successful and made the recipients smile which is always a plus. Many more in the future ladies and gents! Now, the iPad… I said I’d never buy one however, it eventually became clear it would be handy to take a portfolio around with me, so I welcome one into the business.

On top of those, I have gained many new clients, along with working with the clients who constantly return to work with me. Thank you guys Keep bringing me awesome, imaginative briefs in 2012!

As the final SAW movie is approaching and the promotional material is starting to be released, I thought I’d dedicate a blog post to my favorite horror movie posters. Ever since I saw the SAW II poster on the sides of double-decker buses I’ve loved the SAW posters. They make you stare at them, they’re controversial and have great manipulations.

I suppose it helps that I’m a huge SAW fan and I’m sorry to see the franchise end. As much as I love the original Halloween, Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movies, SAW is the horror franchise for my generation and because it’s not just some masked tough guy on a mindless killing rampage it’s refreshing. You have to use your brain whilst watching to figure out the twists, think of what could happen in the next film due to the open endings, nothing is as it seams. I have to admit, not every film has been great, SAW IV & V really did suck compared to the others, but every franchise has it’s rubbish installments. Although the original SAW was a masterpiece and has one of THE best endings ever, SAW II is my favorite, little more fast paced, more blood and gore, the Amanda story starts up and so on.

I don’t know which design studio is responsible for these posters but whoever you are, kudos to you! I have to admit, I had a dream that I’d one day be able to create the SAW XIII (lol) poster if I kept practicing my skills… I should be so lucky, but now that’ll never happen.

The SAW 3D poster doesn’t get a post because it’s a rip off of a Playstation advert from a while back. So hopefully they release the proper one sheets ASAP. I don’t think we’ll get to see posters on the side of buses this year, as they were banned last year due to boring people complaining.

We can’t forget about the Halloween Blood Drive SAW has created each year, building up those pints of blood for those in need. See! Horror movies can do good as well The blood drive posters instantly remind me of House on Haunted Hill (1999) which is another favorite horror of mine (if you forget about the terrible ending!) What’s your take on the posters?

DJ Grind was one of the first clients I worked with when I started getting into graphic design, waaaay back when I went by the pretty odd name of Fraawgz. He believed in me and my work enough to pay me with his hard earned cash along with giving me plenty of radio shout outs along with taking the time to recommend me to various other people, from the UK to the US. What can I say? He’s a genuine guy! You may have heard him on Express FM’s RnG Show (the #1 Urban Show in the South), maybe you’ve been to a club where he was DJing or have listened to one of his many mixtapes, including ‘The Showdown‘ (Eminem _^VS Lil Wayne). If you haven’t… well, shame on you!

I’m dedicating a blog post to Grind to say a thank you for his support over the past few years as he’s leaving the music scene to concentrate on his full time job as he’s landed himself a promotion Read more about the reasons in his own words here. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone whose shown support to me in 2009. Thanks to all the clients who chose to work with me. There’s 1000s of other designers you could have gone to but you chose me, ahh makes me feel special lol I hope to continue working with you in the future and of course I look forward to working with all the new clients I’ll be networking with in 2010 and beyond.

I first started in May ‘08 and I feel I’ve managed to come a long way in a short-ish space of time and I just hope that it will carry on that way, I love to learn new things, I love working with different people from around the globe, I love a challenge so I just love this job. I’ll be working extremely hard throughout this new decade to get to where I’d like to be by the time I’m 28. I’ve got ten years, so I’m getting straight to work, no time to waste!

I hope that everyone whose shown support and everyone I’ve worked with in the past year will have a successful 2010 which will point them into the right direction of where they’d like to be in 10 years too. Best of luck!

I’ve never done a post like this before but I think it’s important to show appreciation to other artists who you have been inspired by or just generally love the work of. So I’ll start up a series of posts with some notorious movie posters. I honestly don’t know who is responsible for making them, google didn’t seam to want to give me any answers and I only have a little time to post this, so maybe if you know who did then please leave a comment.

Is AMANDA back? I hope so, she kicked butt!

They have managed to create controversy over the many years of the series being around, the SAW V bus posters didn’t manage to make it last year as too many people complained, but quite frankly the concept was the best but it certainly wasn’t the most morbid of them all.

It must be amazing working on the posters for Lionsgate as it’s something you probably wouldn’t normally do. Bringing together the macabre of the franchise and putting it into a brilliant concept is just awesome! I sort of wish the series would go on for another five years to give me a chance to become good enough and be one of the people behind the creation but sadly & gladly the series of films is coming to an end…

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a HUGE Saw fan, but after SAW III the franchise fell off big time… The designers sure stayed on point though! The SAW V movie poster is my favorite, you may have seen me make a spoof of it a while back, mocking the ‘beef’ between 50 cent and The Game.

Thank you SAW poster designers for being totally kick ass with photoshop and what not :] I love you guys… I hope your designs for SAW VI put a smile on my face when I see a double decker bus pass me by even though I’m pretty sure the film will suck. I’ll still go and see it at the cinema though (finally!) seeing as I’m now 18 >:]
