329 x Prominant

Prominant found me, a long time ago now, through ESQ as they had worked together. After a hiatus he found me again to work on various artwork for his new projects.

329: Please give the readers of my blog an introduction, who are you and what do you get up to?

Prominant: Hello to all the readers, fans, and supporters, my name is Prominant and I am an avid Hiphop enthusiast, songwriter, and artist.

329: How did you originally get into music? Who and/or what inspired you?

Prominant: I originally started out writing poetry.  My older sister had a friend who picked up my book one day, and asked me “Hey, have you ever thought about writing rhymes”.  At the time I didn’t think I was capable of it, but he taught me the basics and I kept working on my craft to eventually mold my style.

329: Looks like we started out in a similar way… just completely different things. When your writing a new track, what often inspires you?

Prominant: In writing a record from scratch, a lot of factors determine my inspiration and how I begin to allow the record to take shape of my lifestyle or how I’m feeling at the time.  Often times, my inspiration comes from being competitively pushed by LaRon Bishop and Eyerone (of ClassReunionMuzik) by hearing what projects they are working on.  Whenever I hear a snippet, or a finished song that they have recently written or recorded, it tends to “trigger” a stream of creativity to allow me to make records that I haven’t thought about making before.  It’s almost like being apart of a competition where your only method of survival is to adapt and become like your competitors, haha.
